Demon Frameworks is a bespoke bike frame builder based out of Southampton, England. Their site was a challenge of creating something beautiful that would reflect the brand but also that got out of the way of what was important – pictures of the bikes. Ultimately on a high ticket item like a custom bicycle, people want to get the look and feel of the object of desire.
Although I don’t normally use black as a background color, in this case it gave it a sharp and edgy feel that worked well with the brand’s logo (which much to my regret I didn’t design, because man, it’s cool!) and the feel of being both ahead of the curve (modern, awesome bicycles) and a bit retro (manufactured with lugs, because they are stronger than the standard weld, but mostly out of use on modern bicycles).
